It’s been a while hasn’t it? First things first, a happy new year to you all! I hope your holiday season was wonderful and relaxing. I can’t believe we’re into 2023 already and what was supposed to be a month away from the blog turned into 3. All I can say is that a lot has happened in the last few months and I’m still trying to get it all organised in my head.
I honestly didn’t mean to take so much time away from the blog. The Fantasy Fellowship readathon dominated my October and while I enjoyed taking part, even reading the 8 books I did manage to get through took a bit of a toll. I’d sort of come out of a reading slump by that point, but the readathon very nearly sent me back into one. Don’t get me wrong, I enjoyed what I did manage to read, but there were some big books on that list! It also meant that I didn’t have much motivation for blogging, despite the pile of arcs I’ve accumulated and need to review.
In the middle of all that, I’ve had a couple of really big changes recently, which has meant that I haven’t really been in the best headspace to anything apart from read (all I wanted to do was curl up and escape into a good book). It’s frankly been a bit rubbish, but there wasn’t an a lot I could do apart from from ride it out and slowly return to my version of normal (I’m nearly there, thankfully!)
In a way, the hiatus hasn’t been a bad thing – I made it to 100 books at the end of 2022 and I’ve quite liked not having to worry about writing posts and keeping on top of things for the blog. Having said that, I do also feel incredibly guilty that I haven’t been posting much. I’m hoping to rectify that over the next few weeks and then I should hopefully be back to my usual, irregular posting schedule!
In other news, I have started a Bookstagram account! I’ve been spending quite a bit of time over there recently, so if you’re on Instagram, let me know! I’m @apagefull there too 🙂
I’ll be returning to posting reviews etc. over the next few weeks, including reviews of all the arcs I read towards the end of last year. I hope your January is a good one!
I sincerely hope you’re in a better headspace and doing better these days. Happy New Year, and good luck with reading!

It’s good to see you back! Coming from someone who also had a hiatus of sorts, I really hope you’re doing better. Here’s to hoping that 2023 is an even better reading year!
