Monthly Wrap Up

February Wrap Up

Another month and another wrap up post. Feels like it was only days ago that I posted my January one! While it felt like my January momentum didn’t quite last into February, it was still a decent reading month.

Books read:

  • Upright Women Wanted – Sarah Gailey
  • Velvet Was The Night – Silvia Moreno – Garcia
  • These Violent Delights – Chloe Gong
  • The Ivory Key – Akshaya Raman
  • Legends & Lattes – Travis Baldree
  • Galatea – Madeline Miller

Only 3 of these were on my 2022 TBR – the others all somehow managed to sneak in! I also started a subscription with Scribd in an attempt to get into audiobooks and that was how Upright Women Wanted (which I did enjoy), ended up sneaking onto my list.

Legends & Lattes and These Violent Delights were my 2 standouts this month. I loved Legends & Lattes and even though I finished These Violent Delights a couple of weeks ago, I’m still reeling from that book. I’m still trying to gather some coherent thoughts for a review, so I may combine it with a review of Our Violent Ends.

Goodreads / Storygraph reading challenges:

Another 6 books in February means I’m up to 13 books read so far in 2022. That means I’m just over a quarter of the way to achieving my goal for this year! I’m happy with the progress I’m making, so that’s all good 🙂

With regards to the Hodderscape challenge I’m doing, I only read one book for that and that was These Violent Delights. I’m not too worried about how many books a month I read for this challenge – it’s designed to be spread out over the year. Anyway, most of the books on that TBR aren’t out until later in the year, so I have plenty of time to whittle down my Kindle and physical backlog first before trying to complete this.

Other things:

In terms of my other goals, I read 2 books from my Kindle backlog and 3 books from new-to-me authors (the numbers aren’t huge, but it’s progress!) While I’m hoping to keep that momentum, I don’t have much of a TBR for March – I’m hoping to get through my Illumicrate backlog, but let’s see how many of them I can get through! Other than that, I’m planning more of a mood based TBR.

I’m still trying to get into the swing of things with blogging and having a regular posting schedule, so hopefully March will be the month I can get into a good rhythm.

On that note, I hope everyone’s March reading goes well and I look forward to seeing how your month goes 🙂
